Did you try any troubleshooting steps yet? 

I have the same issue I've tried everything EC204, or expired lience .

it keeps stating I need to go online to update the file clear catche , unable to read the lience file I've really looked for answers it's a new clean download from ea so the servers are offline now so you can't go online with that game 

the issue is the same after troubleshooting and clean boot didn't help at all after it when i try to start the game after download  ea app tells me

game license invalid 

the app  couldn't read game's license file so we suggest launching the game in online mode if the problem continues cleaning your cash ( i just did it and it didn't help at all and also i was in an online mode in ea app the whole time)

Thanks for the clarification. Can you please try the following steps: 

Delete EA License Files:

• Make sure the EA app is closed.
• Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
• Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services" (without the quotes) into the new Window > ENTER
• Delete all files in the "License" folder.

Please clear your temp files:

• Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time
• Into the new window, type or copy & paste: "%temp%" (Without the quotes.) > hit "ENTER"
• Your Windows Explorer should have brought you to the "C:\Users\>your user name<\AppData\Local\Temp" folder. > Delete all files and folders in it.
• (If some files or folders can't be deleted, reboot and try again.)

i just did a few minutes ago what you suggested and it didn't help at all so maby i will just accept that need for speed the run does not work anymore after ea app replaced origin
